Britannia Music, Roden Street

March 2, 2018

Hanover Building Services have been appointed Electrical contractor to the Britannia Music development for Durkan Limited, scheduled for completion by April 2020.

The development will provide a mix of 354 one, two and three bedroom homes within two buildings, set around a new public courtyard. The homes will be constructed and finished to a high standard, which plans to raise the bar for the local area. The development features heavily in the Ilford Housing Zone Plans and will deliver a key part of the town centre's regeneration.

206 of the total units are homes for private rental with 93 apartments being allocated for affordable housing with Southern Housing and 55 for private sale.

Danny Durkan, Executive Chairman of Durkan, said: “We are delighted to have closed our first transaction with M&G Real Estate and look forward to further deals with the fund.

“Durkan has excellent land acquisition, development and contracting capabilities which provide a strong platform for partnership transactions in the growing build to rent sector.

“The Britannia Music Site project is exciting for a number of reasons. The way we develop new housing in the UK is changing and the provision of private rental homes by developers such as ourselves is now a central part of the housing mix.”

Hanover are due to deliver full electrical services to the project including:

  • Mains LV Distribution

  • Low energy lighting to communal areas and properties

  • Power supplies to communal areas and properties

  • External and landscape lighting

  • Communal fire alarm system
